The Importance of the Silhouette
With the "Importance of the Silhouette" my purpose is to aim to a different approach in the conception of boats.
WHILE MOST YACHTS LOOK VERY ALIKE ON THE HORIZON THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS AND VERY INNOVATIVE EXAMPLES OF YACHTS THAT LOOKS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS.
MOST PEOPLE CAN OBSERVE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VESSELS ONLY WHEN THEY ARE NEAR ENOUGH TO SEE THE DETAILS, BUT ONLY A HANDFUL CAN BE INCREDIBLY DISTINGUISHABLE FROM VERY FAR AWAY.
I have studied different shapes and forms that could be immediately recognizable from the horizon and that could work on water.
ULTIMATELY I HAVE CHOSEN A TRIANGULAR SHAPE, CREATED BY AN INVERTED BOW THAT CONVEYS THE WATER ON THE SIDES OF THE YACHT.
THIS PECULIAR SHAPE CAN BE VISIBLE AND RECOGNIZABLE FROM FAR AWAY AND IT CREATES AN AFFINITY BETWEEN THE SEA AND THE DESERT, THE BOAT AND THE PYRAMIDS.
During the creation of the vessel the importance of the interior luminosity was fundamental, this is why I have decided to create a visual contrast between the bow and the stern. This contrast is born by designing a robust and solid bow but leaving the stern very light.
THE FULL STERN OF THE YACHT IS CONSTRUCTED WITH A COMBINATION OF GLASS AND AN INTRICATE STRUCTURE THAT GIVES SOLIDITY TO IT.
THIS KIND OF CONFIGURATION HAVE ALLOW THE BOAT TO HAVE A GREAT STRUCTURAL FORCE. ORGANIZED AS THE SHAPE OF TREES AND NATURE, THE STERN CONFIGURATION CREATES AN INTERNAL FOREST.
The inverted bow, at the front of the yacht, takes inspiration from the Ulstain boats, to confer solidity in the most impervious environments, but with added grace and sense of speed.
THE YACHT IS VERY DISTINGUISHABLE BY ITS TRIANGULAR SHAPE INTERSECTED BY A DIAGONAL LINE THAT GRANT AN ACCELERATING AND UNIQUE SILHOUETTE.
